Welcome to Ugly Pugly Professional Dog Grooming Salon based in Newport Shropshire near Telford, we believe that every dog deserves the best which is why we have a limited number of appointments each day allowing enough time to spend perfecting your four legged friend.

When you bring your dog to us we will discuss and listen to the needs that both you and your pet require. We realise that in the busy world of today not all our customers have the time to devote to brushing their dogs regularly and may require what we call a low maintenance haircut or a regular grooming programme.

We only use the very best quality dog shampoo's and fragrances and each one is chosen to match your dog's skin and coat type.

Our salon is clean, modern and most importantly dog friendly. We do our best to ensure that your dog is in a safe and comfortable environment.

Special attention is given to nervous dogs and owners are more than welcome to stay with their pet throughout the grooming process.

All dogs are thoroughly brushed out to begin with ensuring that all matt's, tangles and dead hair is removed. Heavily matted dogs that required clipping will be clipped off first. Please Do Not bath your dog if its coat is either matted or knotted as this will only tighten and make them worse.

Your dog will then be bathed with a shampoo to suit its skin and fur type. Shampoo is rubbed in all over the body with the use of a zoom groom that will massage skin and remove further dead coat and skin. It is advisable if your dog is being hand stripped that you have a bath on a separate occasion as once hair has been plucked out it leaves all the pores open and skin may then become irritated.

Then comes the high velocity dryer which thoroughly dries the coat and again will remove any further dead coat. Your dog will then be styled to however you prefer whether it be a stylish clip or a simple trim. Then to finish a spritz of our gorgeous doggie cologne. Nail clipping, ear plucking and cleaning is included in a full groom but is also available on a walk in service.
